My Eyeshadow Palette Collection

Hello, everybody! After taking a day off to battle a terrible head cold, I’m back! Today, I’m talking about eyeshadow palettes. These are some of the most hyped palettes on the market, and I was suckered into buying all of them. Do I regret any of my purchases? Read on to find out! And grab yourself a cuppa–it’s a long one.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette: This palette just had a huge relaunch and you better believe I finally got my hands on it. I spent months praying to the peach gods that Jerrod Blandino would bring this sweet smelling palette back, and finally he did. It’s worth the hype. It just is. I mean, it smells like peaches. That should be enough for you. The colors are beautiful and blend so easily. This palette suites all eye colors and skin tones and it will be perfect this spring and summer. Don’t sleep on this one though! They go fast.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette: This has been talked about for years now. Everyone knows and loves this palette in the makeup world. It smells like chocolate, it’s the perfect warm toned, everyday palette. You can create so many different looks. It’s a must have in every makeup collection. Enough said.

Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Eye Shadow Palette: Yes, there is a theme here. Most of Too Face’s shadows do have a scent, and this palette smells like peanut butter. When I first saw this palette, I knew it would be a favorite of mine. It has the most gorgeous warm brown transition colors, and the most amazing rust red matte color I’ve ever seen. It’s everything I love in a palette. And it really is the perfect size for traveling. Above all, it’s so cute–how can you resist it?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette: We all know how much hype this palette gets. Is it deserved? YES. Typically, I wouldn’t buy a palette with so many pink shades, but I try to push myself out of my comfort zone when it comes to makeup. And I’m so glad it did. These shadows are so so so buttery and pigmented. It’s in my top 5 most used palettes. You can create very bold or very simple looks with this, and I love having that versatility. I will say, if you’re into shimmer, you won’t find much here. The palette is primarily matte, but the few shimmers inside are outstanding. This one is a must, people.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario: I have been a fan of Mario Dedivanovic’s work for a few years now. Yes, he’s mostly know for his work with the Kardashians (who I also love unabashedly) but go and check out his Instagram–the guy is crazy talented. This palette is filled with beautiful, pigmented, and creamy shimmers, and the matte transitions are spectacular. Even cooler, each shadow is named after a woman or city that inspires Mario’s work. Coincidentally, my favorite color is “Kim.”

Urban Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette: This lovely palette was a recent purchase I made during the holiday season. It just so happened to be 50% off at Ulta (and we all know the Naked palettes are NEVER on sale), so I couldn’t resist. I typically use only warm toned shadows–I just think they suite my skin tone more. But lately, I’ve been wanting to experiment with cool tones to see what looks I can create. This palette is a must if you love a smoky eye. The colors are so beautiful and blend-able, I just can’t get enough. And BONUS–if you want to create a warmer look, you can do that with this palette too. Who doesn’t love versatility?

Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette: This was indeed the first palette I ever purchased. The amount of research I did before settling on this palette is actually a bit embarrassing, but it’s still one of my favorites. If you love warm toned, bronzy shadows, this is the only palette you really need. You can create so many amazing looks with this. The only complaint I have is that on my darker skin, the transition shades are a bit ashy and cool toned looking. But if I had to do it over again, I’d still pick this palette every time.

Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Palette: Originally, this palette really wasn’t on my radar. I had heard good things about it, but it just didn’t stand out to me. Eventually my cousin convinced me that it was life changing, so I picked one up for myself. If you’re looking for a matte palette, this one’s for you. There are a few shimmer shades–which are stunning–but the mattes are what really won me over. I love the nude mattes for setting down my eye primer, and the dark brown and black mattes for creating a smoky eyeliner look. It’s great for travel. It’s great all-around.

Tarte Limited-Edition Swamp Queen Eye & Cheek Palette: I first laid eyes on this beauty at Sephora. I was with my cousins and I had just told them to not let me buy anything. But then we all saw this palette and suddenly I was handing the nice lady my Sephora membership card at the checkout counter. Basically, I have no willpower. This palette, however, has become a staple in my makeup collection, and I ended up traveling with it all summer. It has everything you need, matte and shimmer shadows, blush, bronzer, and the most blinding highlighter you have ever seen. I especially love how much the bronzer and blush suite my darker skin tone. It is limited-edition, but I believe Tarte recently restocked the palette, so get it while you can!

Tarte Styled by Hrush Eye & Cheek Palette: If I’m being honest, I first discovered this palette on Kim Kardashian’s Snap Chat. She was on vacation with the Insta-famous makeup artist Hrush Achemyan and was demo-ing the palette. When I saw the shades in the palette, I knew I had to get my hands on it. This is my go to palette when I travel–I love that you can create multiple looks and that it comes with a full size blush, which is the most beautiful coral you’ve ever seen. This is also the palette I use when I’m creating a simple daytime makeup look. It’s just amazing, go pick one up for yourself.

Morphe KathleenLights Palette: As I mentioned in my Crazy for Nude Lips post, I’m obsessed with KathleenLights collaborations. Honestly, I can’t get enough. When she posted the first image of this palette on her Instagram, I know I had found my favorite palette EVER. And that’s saying something. The eyeshadows are super pigmented, apply seamlessly, and the colors are outstanding. She has everything you could ask for in a palette–cool tones, warm tones, transition colors, mattes, shimmers, even a pop of color. This is my ride or die palette for sure.

Studio Makeup  Cool Down Palette: I recently reviewed this palette in my November Boxycharm blog post. If you want to know more about it, clink the link!

Lorac Unzipped Gold Eye Shadow Palette: This was my second palette ever, and I remember how hyped I was for it. In hindsight, it’s certainly not as amazing as palettes I’ve bought since, but it still holds a special place in my heart. My biggest issue with this palette is that the matte colors are too dark to use as a transition. Get too heavy handed and your smoky eye can turn into a black eye. However, the shimmer shades in this palette are beautiful and very pigmented. If you’re an all-gold-everything kind of person, this palette is for you.

Pixie by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Palette: I received this palette in my Birchbox back in the spring. I had looked at the palette a few times in Target, but wasn’t sure if I needed it or not. To be honest, I don’t find myself reaching for this very often–not because it’s not beautiful–it is–but mostly because it doesn’t have a lighter transition color. And if you know me, you know I love a good transition. But if you like a very basic eyeshadow look, this palette would be perfect for you. And you can’t beat the price!

Pure Cosmetics Buff Collection Eyeshadow Palette: I also reviewed this palette previously in my December Boxycharm blog post. If you want to know what I thought, click the link!
